Description:

This week we take a walk on the Oregon Coast. Right after school let out Kris and I spent a few days in Yachats at a little rental house called Zoe's Vista. The weather was beautiful and we walked on the beach everyday. On the second day I carried my little iRiver MP3 recorder and a stereo lapel microphone. Part of the time I sat on some rocks near a small cove. You can hear the waves coming in and crashing at my feet. Later I walked over to a small twin waterfall and then back over to the water's edge. This 21 minute segment is unedited.

The beach was littered with thousands of blue jellyfish. I've never seen anything like it.

Equipment list:

The original stereo recording was made at 160 kbps at 44 kHz on my iRiver 795. I transferred the MP3 file to my iBook and used iTunes to convert the file to an AIF file at 16 bit, 44.1 kHz. I then used SoundEdit 16 to add a fade in and out at the beginning and the end and used iTunes to convert the AIF file to a 64 kbps, 22kHz. MP3 file and to set the ID3 tags.
